Sad about Sophie

After many tears, I've made the gut-wrenching decision to return Sophie to the Humane Society. I just can't get her housetrained. Almost every day she pees in the boys' room. I guess last night was the last straw. She peed all over Twin B's brand new comforter and it soaked clear down to his brand new mattress. I'm just heartbroken and feel like somehow I've failed since I can't get her housetrained. I'm sure the boys will bounce back much quicker than I will. My mom and dad are going to come get her tomorrow and take her back for me so I don't have to look into those sad eyes and tell her goodbye. Geez...I can't even type this post without boo-hooing! I sure am gonna miss that dog!

Awww how sad! We are having a hard time house training our little dog too. But he is getting better and was WAY too expensive to return. LOL, otherwise I may have made that same decision. Im so sorry to hear this, but sometimes it is for the best especially when you have 2 other little mess makers to chase around. :D
Hang in there and maybe when the boys are older you can try again. HUGS!!!

Oh, Erin, I'm sooooo sorry. I can't even think of anything funny to say. That's how sorry I am. I'm with Alyse on this one - maybe when the boys are older and there's more time, or they can do the training, or something. Maybe a different breed? (Our dogs were so dumb they'd shit all over themselves in their crate no matter how small I made the space.)
Oh dear. I feel so bad for you. Major hugs! (Don't tell anyone I said that.)

Well, I found someone at work that wants her and is supposed to get her today, so at least I won't have to take her back to the Humane Society. The boys actually seem to be okay with it, but we'll see how they are once she's actually gone. Thanks for the hugs, guys!

I really think I just need to wait until I'm in a house with a fenced in backyard instead of a condo.

Awww, Erin, that would break my heart! I have a cat who is getting older and peeing a lot. But I have over ten years invested in our relationship, so there's no choice but to clean up the pee.

*sigh* I at least found a litter she'll use. It's only $80 a month. *groans!*

Big hugs!

It is breaking my heart. I'm sure if I'd had her for that long I'd just continue to clean. Peeing on the brand new bed was sort of the straw that broke the camel's back though. The floor is bad enough, but who wants to sleep in it?!?
